Lattice-Boltzmann Very-Large-Eddy-Simulations (LB/VLES)

The LB/VLES approach gives high-accuracy results at a much smaller computational cost when compared to Navier-Stokes Equations based solvers. As such, the group much exploits it for a broad variety of applications.

Vortex Particle Methods (VPM)

Mid-fidelity solvers can give fast outputs and, as such, are particurly suited for optimization processes. The mesh-less VPM approach much simplifies the simulation of flowfields induced by moving/rotating objects.

Navier-Stokes Equations (NSE) simulations

Whether considering laminar, RANS or laminar-turbulent transition models the group uses NSE solvers to predict the flowfield around different objects, often to guide/validate the deisgn/outcomes of an experimental setup.

In-house developped Partial Differential Equations (PDE) solvers

In-house developped PDE solvers are implemented and used for more theoretical studies where the model of a  physics problem is available or needs to be derived.
